Supporting the Duxbury Library for OVER 40 Years!
The Duxbury FOL was founded in 1976 by resident Deborah Hill Bornheimer and a team of dedicated volunteers. Click for more history of the Duxbury FOL and for our Board Members.
OUR Mission
The Friends of the Duxbury Free Library’s mission is to enrich the lives of every Duxbury citizen from the youngest to the oldest by promoting, advocating for, and supporting our Library through annual fundraising efforts.
Fundraising includes our annual fund drive, events, and the ongoing book sale in our FOL room at the Library. Our events include our annual Battle of the Book Clubs, the annual used book sale and merchandise sales.
What We Do
Our donations help the library maintain state accreditation and membership in the Old Colony Network. The network allows library users to borrow from many area libraries.
We support summer children and teen programming with funding and provide an annual scholarship to a senior who is active at the library. We sponsor the annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon for the library staff, INC board and FOL board. The FOL provides funds for special library needs like a 3D Printer, the Sunday Arts & Culture Series, the Reading Garden maintenance and much more!
