Author Consortium

Access to discussions from bestselling authors like Liane Moriarty of Big Little Lies, Freida McFadden of The Housemaid’s Secret, Nina Simon of Mother-Daughter Murder Night, and Bonnie Garmus of Lessons in Chemistry to name a few! Take webinars ranging from a deep dive in character development to telling your own story in a graphic novel.

Junior FOL

The JR Friends of the Duxbury Free Library fosters next generation stewardship. Members can participate in activities year-round ranging from book voting, shelf organization, movie screenings, a springtime planting event and more!

Chandler and Alden Students are the ideal age for Jr. FOL members, but anyone interested in our mission is welcome to join. Come meet new people, enjoy one of our greatest community assets and make a difference at the library! 

Youth Summer Library Program

The FOL is proud to sponsor the Summer Library Program. Popular with kids and teens, the program is filled with various events, activities and contests. Registration begins every June.

FOL Scholorships

The FOL Awards two $,1000 scholarships to high school seniors whose lives have been positively impacted by our library. Be on the lookout this spring for application information from the Duxbury High School Guidance Department. Applications are typically due in April.

Sunday Arts & Culture Series

The Friends of the Duxbury Free Library provides the supplemental funding necessary to fulfill the state accreditation requirement for the Old Colony Network.  This makes it possible for library users to borrow both print and audiobooks from a wide variety of South Shore libraries.
